As
most of you are aware our South Walton 30A real estate market is much stronger than it has
been in years, with volume and prices up.
Our
market being a resort vacation resort market has proven the old adage that resorts
are one of the first markets to go down in a recession and one the first to
come back. After a crazy upswing, it was clear we were in trouble by 2006. We started to see the beginning
recovery by the end of 2010. Markets
often act like a pendulum, they go too high in boom times when speculation is
rife, and they go too low in down times, when every one is scared. We are
coming off the bad times and the pendulum is moving back towards the
equilibrium. Bank owned and short sale inventory is slowing up, but I still see them being a factor in the market for the near future. There are still bargains to be found.
In any event, if you want to buy property at the beach or sell property at the beach, this is a great time to do so. After the summer season things slow down on 30A and the rentals are more available to get into so people start looking hard. Call me 850-368-8326.
